Yacht builders Overmarine launch the Oceano 42 in Pisa

April 28 saw Oceano 42, the second in the Mangusta series, hit the waters of Pisa. It came exactly 1 year later of Namaste from the yacht builders and looks to hold on to its repute. Oceano superyacht is 42-meter, hence its name, and proudly sports a tri-deck structure.

Engine and Power

The Italian shipyard has gone with M72 diesel engines capable of delivering 1,450 HP of max power. Fuel capacity stands at 62,000 liters. The MTU 12 V2000 powertrain will make Oceano 42 reach a top speed of nearly 15 knots, combined with a cruising range of 4,500 nautical miles.

“Power is definitely impressive; it’s the second after all. The yacht will rev but you won’t feel a thing.” – said an official during this yacht launch.

Décor and capacity

Oceano 42 boasts of a lot of glass in its entirety. The builders have installed huge windows with a focus on space optimization. It can house 7 crew members and 12 guests in its 5 staterooms. Mangusta will also come with two doubles Pullman berths and a private balcony for the owner.

The beach club is Oceano’s main feature. The yacht builders have combined it with an infinity pool on its foredeck. It comes with a glass glazed bottom that allows light into this yacht’s main master suite. An innovative design in all respects!

Overview

Overmarine said nothing about charter or private ownership during the yacht launch. But it did reveal that Oceano 42 got constructed in its 22,000 square meter facility in Tuscany. This very shipyard is also rumored to have been working on Mangusta’s next flagship – Gransport 54.

The new Oceano stands on a steel hull combined effectively with aluminium. Design credits reach out to Alberto Mancini. Expect it to set sail soon and should not be a surprise on performance. Oceano 42 carries the footprint of the yacht builders and showcases luxury in all respects.
