Bermuda in association with Boat International Media will be hosting the 2nd America’s Cup Super-Yacht Regatta in the 35th annual America’s Cup event. June 12 – June 15, 2017, will see latest superyachts from around the world be a part of the America’s Cup action and participate in their own racing event. Registration dates for the event closed on 1st April, 2017 which came with $10,000 for the entry fee.
The event –
A three yacht event will see Superyachts measuring over 24 meters both LOA and J Class battling it out for the America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta Trophy. “Adela” won its debut trophy in San Francisco 2013, which is the yacht to beat this year as well.
J class yachts which are built to Nathanael Herreshoff’s universal rule have also confirmed their participation with this expensive fleet of latest superyachts. Moreover, its social and cultural events will also take you into one of America’s iconic sports event.
The yachts –
A fleet of power and design will adorn this yacht event. Prominent names include Royal Huisman’s Action (37m), Hanuman (42m) and Meteor (52m). Perini Navi, on the other hand, will display the Perseus (60m) and Maltese Falcon (88m).
A special mention goes to designer Gerard Dijkstra’s “Adela”. Measuring 55m in length, it has undergone refitting in 2015 at the Pendennis Shipyard. Adela – the defending champions will be the hot favorite this season.
Paying a visit
